Clinical presentation:
62 year old woman with back pain.

There is increased size and density of the 11 thoracic, 2nd lumbar, 4th lumbar and 5 lumbar vertebrae. In particular, the 2nd and 4th lumbar vertebra have a sclerotic biconcave appearance, whcih indicates bone softening and a general change in bone architecture. The process obscures the pedicles in the affected vertebrae.
