Clinical presentation:
35 year old male with an inherited condition.
The vertebral bodies are biconcave antero-posteriorly, especially the scalloped posterior margins of the vertebral bodies. There is enlargement of the neural foramina, particularly at L4/L5 level. The contrast of the myleogram fills sacculations of the theca. The facet joints appear normal and vertebral alignment is preserved.
There is a past fracture of the neck of the left femur. The neighbouring newbone is probably ossification of the soft tissue over the collateral (ischio-femoral?) ligaments. The medial density of this newbone has well-corticated concave impressions and similar concave impressions are present in the left ischium. The appearance suggests the presence of multiple soft tissue masses. There is variation of bone density in the necks of both femora. The left margins are probably related to the extra-periosteal newbone. On the right side the appearance is probably normal variation.
The soft tissue density of a full-bladder is noted in the pelvis. The contrast of a recent myelogram is noted in sacculations of the lumbar theca.
