Clinical presentation:
Adult male with a history of abdominal pain.

Both kidneys lie on the left side in this IVU. The left kidney is in roughly normal position and the right lies below it and medially over the psoas at the level of the iliac crest. The pelvicalyceal systems are vertical and directed laterally, particularly that of the right kidney. Both ureters proceed into the pelvis over the left ala of the sacrum ( or more correctly, proceeded out of the pelvis in-utero on the left side and making an anomalous connection with the kidneys).
